Lizzo Lawsuit and Trump Indictment Create Record Day for Newsroom PR
Legal and litigation PR experts secure nearly 500 top-tier media placements in a single day.
Newsroom PR recorded its biggest day ever on Tuesday, August 1, as its national legal and litigation PR team secured nearly 500 earned media placements for law firm clients across multiple breaking legal news stories.
The day began with Newsroom PR breaking the news of a lawsuit filed by client West Coast Employment Lawyers against performer Lizzo. Former dancers alleged a toxic and discriminatory work environment, generating more than 400 print and online placements and 63 broadcast and digital video appearances.
Coverage included major national outlets such as The New York Times , The Washington Post , Los Angeles Times , CNN , the TODAY show , Good Morning America , MSNBC , and hundreds of additional outlets.
The results surpassed Newsroom PR’s prior one-day record of 232 placements, set the previous September for client Lawyers for the People following a press conference on a DNA-related lawsuit.
Litigation PR Across Multiple Breaking News Cycles
But the day was far from over. Following the indictment of former President Donald Trump related to efforts to overturn the 2020 election, Newsroom PR positioned its clients as expert legal commentators.
The firm secured interviews and quotations across 18 major outlets, including ABC News , the BBC , The Wall Street Journal , and five Newsweek articles—one of which featured commentary from three separate Newsroom PR clients.
Simultaneously, the Newsroom PR team broke the news of a discrimination lawsuit filed by client MSD on behalf of a Black San Francisco State University student advisor. That matter generated additional coverage in outlets including the Los Angeles Times , San Francisco Chronicle , and the Daily Mail .
The news cycle may slow down in the summer, but Newsroom PR’s litigation public relations strategy certainly does not.
